Hi, I’m Stacey!
For three decades, I have taught young people through dance, theatre and physical education—and learned that teaching is ultimately about helping people discover things they didn’t know they could do.
For almost two decades, I have learned through gymnastics things I didn’t know I could do.
Through all of that time, I have written—a lot. I love sharing stories about myself and the people I cross paths with. I write about inspiring connections and navigating the ups and downs of family, teaching, creation, flipping and falling, and getting back up again.
Now, I’m talking about it more. Out loud. I’m asking the questions…
What if you're not too old?
What if the best years are ahead of you?
Do you know how to become a beginner again?
Leaning into the phrase “The Geriatric Gymnast” has given me a powerful opportunity to explore our assumptions associated with getting older. It is the laboratory for exploring fear, failure, resilience, courage, and—most importantly—possibility.
What is actually possible in midlife?
What does it mean to become a beginner again, after we've spent a lifetime becoming an expert?
I’ve dug into those questions on my websites and through publishing my books. Now, I’m bringing them to the stage, to conversations, and to coaching.
And I have figured out some answers. Or at least enough to lead me to more challenging questions.
